I had a freshman beginning student who’s been with me a year and a half. She’s currently playing at Faber 2B level but is ready for a good challenge piece.

Paul Sheftel’s “Nocturne” was perfect. This is one of those pieces I will always keep a copy of on hand.

Popular right now is the “Sheet Pan” supper. Have you tried one yet? I love the simplicity of getting three items into your meal, all cooked at the same time without having to be a casserole. Roasting is one of my favorite ways to cook too, so it’s a double-win. So far, I love Sheet Pan Bratwursts, Beets and Chard and Spanish Chicken with Chorizo and Potatoes. Want to check out a few more recipes? This website has lots of beautiful sheet pan dinner recipes.

My studio lending library grew last week when I threw onto an Amazon order the beautiful book The Bear and the Piano. Gorgeous.

Do you have any Netflix food or music-related show favorites? Share!

Also, stay tuned in the upcoming week as I’ll be adding more assignment sheets to Assignment Sheet Central and posting a series on how to incorporate commitment-building strategies from team sports in your studio!

    • You’re welcome on the share. 🙂 You were a huge part of my growth as a teacher in my early days and I’ll be a “forever fan!” Let me know what you think of the sheet-pan dinner and if you find any you particularly love!

  • Your Friday Finds are my favorite and I look forward to finding it in my e-mail each week. Your blog is top quality and I have loved using it to help me as I’ve gotten back into teaching this year after a break of more than a decade.

And you should watch “I’ll Have What Phil’s Having” on Netflix. You will laugh and love it, I promise.

    • Hey, Emily! Thank you so much for your comment and I’m so glad I can be a part of your success! I know how hard it is to get back into things after being away for so long. For me, it was going back to school after 6 years out. While it’s not nearly as long as being away for a decade, it was still harder than I would have imagined. Learning to be a student again wasn’t fun so I’m glad I can make your transition back into teaching a little easier! I’ll be sure and check out that show. I’m always looking for new recommendations so thank you for sharing!
