Fun Things

How one kid can destroy the performance of John Cage solo for sliding trombone.

This is hilarious and, bless his heart, the performer was a trooper! The title is wrong though in my opinion. The kid didn’t destroy the solo – the solo brought the child great joy! 🙂 I’m with the kid – it’s a hilarious solo! LOL.

If you don’t want to watch the whole thing, the highlight starts around 3-min in.

Giveaway

Now, for our giveaway!

Enter to win:

20 issues of Milk Street Magazine
(Fall 2016 Charter Issue – July/Aug 2020 Issue)

In full disclosure, they are not brand new. When Milk Street first launched, I signed up immediately and have been getting every issue since.

I’ve exhausted my use of these particular magazines and have gotten lots of great recipes from them.

All my favorite recipes from these issues are now saved in Paprika, my favorite digital recipe manager.

Since I’m not one to hold onto things, I was about to recycle the magazines when my husband spoke up and said: “Hey, why don’t you just use them for a giveaway item?”

Brilliant!

While you may find a few handwritten notes here and there, they’re still in really good condition – why not let someone else benefit from them as well?

How to Enter

  • Our family has enjoyed a book that we learned about from your blog entitled “Ratios.” We like to cook, and the simple “ratio” principle of cooking and baking has been a source of conversation in our kitchen more than once!

  • I have enjoyed your Friday Finds for a long time now, Amy, and my husband (he’s a foodie) has now downloaded the Paprika app and is enjoying it! Thanks for having this drawing. If I win, they are going to Larry, my husband. He would love receiving them.

  • I love clips of various music styles, especially the Christmas ones in this post. Since we are social distancing with remote lessons, I’m going to forward this on to my piano students as a “remote” Christmas present. I think they will love it! We are all stuck at home right now, so in addition to bringing them different styles of music, they will have fun watching it. We had our remote Christmas recital on Zoom just two days ago, so Christmas songs will be fun for them tiisten to! Thanks for the inspiring music!
