As I browsed through my Google Photos to find the picture that felt most inspiring to share with you in this month’s finds, I realized that it doesn’t always have to be something from recent days.
One thing that’s powerful about modern-day photo streams is that you can use a single term to search for anything, whether that be a dog, a piano, a location, or a person’s face/name (if you’ve set up face recognition). So, I decided to search “July” and proceeded to scroll through all the photos I’ve ever taken in July, from now all the way back to 2002!
Pictures we take are sometimes for sharing and sometimes just for our entertainment / pleasure / memories.
Last July, I made my ex-photographer husband go into town with me and do a little photo shoot. In recent years our city spruced up downtown with a cool mural. I’ve had few reasons to use this photo for anything other than my own pleasure so I thought why not feature it today!
The backdrop is so fun; it even made it into a dinner outing photo op. at this year’s Digital Organization Retreat.

There’s an excerpt of lyrics from the song On the Banks of the Wabash from Paul Dresser on the wall:
“Oh, the moonlight’s fair tonight along the Wabash;
From the fields there comes the breath of new-mown hay,
Through the sycamores the candle lights are gleaming,
On the banks of the Wabash, far away.”
Now onto this month’s finds!

It might be a good idea to change passwords on some of your most precious sites, or at least those that you still use the same password on. 16 Billion Apple, Facebook, Google, and Other Passwords leaked (Forbes).
P.S. If you’re not already, it’s time to use a password manager like 1Password or LastPass.

Changing the password on 15 different sites is not a small task. I’m at least glad it happened in summer when I had a bit of margin to take it seriously and not brush it off due to busyness. Need more margin in your life? More on that here:

If there’s one thing I feel like I’ve yet to find one I really love – it’s pasta salad. Until now.
I really do try to find recipes that are as healthy as possible, but sometimes you have to go for the full fat not good for you version. LOL This one is the case for me: Dill Pickle Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad Now THAT is a pasta salad I can get on board with!

After this past month’s Amazon Prime Days, we were at my sister-in-law’s house for Sunday lunch, and she told me she nabbed a new drink pitcher from my recommendations! LOL I can’t tell you how many people I have had say they’ve bought this. It’s definitely a favorite item of mine to recommend. It’s so comfortable to pour from and since it’s glass, I can brew tea directly in the pitcher.

Some recipe favorites for the produce of the season:
Watermelon: Mexican Fruit Cups (Maricruz Avalos)
Peaches: Avocado Peach Summer Salad (What’s Gabby Cooking)
Zucchini: Simple Zucchini Bread (King Arthur Baking)
Corn: Coconut Corn Soup with Chili Crisp (Washington Post)
Feel the need for protein to accompany? Cut up smoked sausage (like Eckrich) into very small dice and pan-fry. Sprinkling just a couple of tablespoons of the sausage into each bowl of soup is a nice, easy protein addition!
