Note Reading Progressions
Note Reading Progressions is a flexible collection of sequenced practice sets designed for use with the Note Rush app.
Instead of overwhelming students with too many notes at once, these progressive sets introduce notes in small, manageable groups to build confident, accurate note reading over time.
With 11 thoughtfully organized sets—including landmark-based progressions, accidentals, pentascales, key sets, ACE ledger lines, and Piano Safari Progressions (Bass C + Treble G + Skips Alphabet)—this resource supports a variety of teaching approaches.
Numbered sets, hyperlinks, QR Codes, and a CSV File make it easier than ever to track student learning and assign note practice at home.

Either—or both. You can use these note sets during lessons, assign them for at-home practice, or do a combination of both. The flexible format makes it easy to adapt to your studio workflow.
Do my students need the Note Rush app to use this resource?
Yes, but only if you’re using it to assign note practice at home. You can also just use it during the lesson time.
Is this resource affiliated with or endorsed by Note Rush?
No. This product was independently created and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Note Rush.
What ages or levels is this best for?
All ages that are still in the note-learning stage!
Do I have to use all the sets in order?
Not at all. While the first five sets follow a landmark-based progression, the full collection is flexible. You can choose and assign any sets that fit your preferred note-reading approach.
How many note sets are included?
There are 11 main sequenced note progressions, and more than 70+ “micro” progressions throughout the 11 sets.
How do we access the note sets?
You can either click on a hperlink to open the set on the same device or scan a QR code to open it on another device. A CSV File is also included for those who use a practice app for assignments.
What if a student can’t scan the QR code?
Each label includes an image of the notes in that set, so students can manually select the correct notes in Note Rush if needed.
Can I use this with an online practice app?
Yes. A CSV file is included that contains hyperlinks to every item in each set. You can upload this into most online assignment apps for easy digital practice tracking.
Can I use this with multiple students?
Yes. Your purchase includes a studio license for use with your own private students.
