Buttery Ranch Snack Mix

A savory ranch snack mix made with a unique mix of chips, crackers, veggie straws, and pretzels. Crunchy, buttery, and perfect for parties or gifting.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 16 oz bag Pretzel Snaps (square) or Waffles (round)
  • 1 21 oz box Family Size Cheez-It
  • 1 4.5 oz bag Munchos Potato Crisps
  • 1 7 oz bag Veggie Straws
  • 1 7 oz bag Bugles
  • 1 7 oz bag Stacy's Simply Naked Bagel Chips
  • 1 13 oz bottle Orville Redenbacher Movie Theater Butter Topping Oil
  • 1 1 oz sachet Hidden Valley Ranch Dip Seasoning Mix (1oz = 2 Tbsp)

Equipment

  • 3 Half sheet pans
  • 1 Oversize bowl (13 Quart) or roasting pan
  • 1 Small saucepan
  • 1 Large spoon
  • 1 Whisk
  • Bags for gifting optional

Method
 

  1. Place 3 racks equal distance apart in your oven and preheat to 225° F.
  2. Pour half the contents of each snack bag/box into an oversize bowl. Mix gently with a large spoon or clean hands. Add half of what remains in each box and mix well. Repeat. (This just makes it easier to mix thoroughly little by little.)
  3. In a small saucepan, warm oil and ranch seasoning sachet over low heat. Whisk until mixed well and gently warmed, 2-3 minutes.
  4. Pour 1/3 of the mixture over the snacks and mix gently, turning the bowl a quarter turn as you stir. Give the butter mixture a quick whisk again and pour half of what remains over snacks. Repeat. (Again, this just makes it easier to coat gently and thoroughly).
  5. Spread evenly between 3 cookie sheets.
  6. Place in the oven and cook on 225° F for 90 minutes, rotating the sheet pans from high to low and gently tossing every 30 minutes. (Tossing is optional)
  7. If bagging, cool fully 20-30 minutes.
  8. Bag up and enjoy!
